Right now, although the times are uncertain and unsettling, we have to practice our Faith over fear. Fear gets us nowhere. It causes us to panic, over stress, have anxiety, mistreat ourselves and possibly even mistreat other people by being selfish.
Faith gives us the ability to use wisdom, think clearly while being concerned, but not panic. Faith gives us the ability to be selfless, take care of ourselves and family, as well as our friends and community by being there for each other in ways we are able.
Fear causes one to hoard. Faith gives us the ability to share and help.
"God has not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind." -2 Timothy 1:7.
That spirit of fear that tries to creep up, God didn't give that to us. He has given us Power to endure and make it through this trying time. He has given us the ability to love even in the midst of uncertainty and instability. He also gives us a sound mind, or in other words, He gives us sound judgment and a stable mind. This is so we can make sound and wise decisions. So we don't panic, go over the edge and do crazy things.
Am I extra concerned about what's going on? Absolutely. Am I taking this situation seriously? You bet I am! But I have an expectation that my God will see us through this. My faith and trust isn't in myself, others or my government. My faith and my trust is in Jesus. "His Word is a light to my feet and a lamp to my path." Psalm 119:105
Where is your faith today? If it is in yourself, other people or things, it's in the wrong place. I invite you to put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ. Ask Him to come into your heart, forgive you of your sins, save you and lead the way. I guarantee you, He will give you peace in the midst of this storm.
